Dr. Doug Horton and Dr. Ben Horton are experienced professionals. They take time to educate you on all options for treatment, allowing you to make an informed decision about what is best for your dental health. They understand each individual has both clinical and personal concerns that affect their choices. Dr. Doug and Dr. Ben’s caring approach will put you at ease and you will feel confident in your decision for treatment.

Dr. Douglas J. Horton

Dr. Benjamin S. Horton
DDS
Dr. Ben Horton was born and raised in Cedar Rapids where he lives with his wife Amber and three children. Dr. Ben earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Iowa. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2011.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, is a Fellow of The International College of Implantologists and a past president of the Linn County Dental Society. Dr. Ben is committed to patient care and staying at the forefront of dental techniques and technology.
He likes to spend free time with his family traveling, biking, golfing and working around the house.
Dr. Arlyn Robinson
DDS
In the summer of 2018, Dr. Robinson joined Horton Family Dental and moved his practice to our Cedar Rapids location. Dr. Robinson graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1977. He has been practicing dentistry in Cedar Rapids since 1977. Dr. Robinson has been an adjunct professor at the College of Dentistry for 41 years. He is a member of the Linn County Dental Society and the University District Dental Society. He is a lifetime member of the American Dental Association. In his free time, Dr. Robinson enjoys gardening, cars, home maintenance and traveling with his wife Linda.
Dr. Ben Jacobson
DDS
Dr. Ben Jacobson was born and raised on a farm near Humboldt, IA, completed his undergraduate degree at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, while studying Biology Neuroscience and playing baseball. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2021.
He is a current member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and is excited to provide excellent dental care to the eastern Iowa community.
In his free time, Dr. Jacobson likes to spend time with his wife Karlee, playing summer baseball. staying active with outdoor activities and keeping up with the Marvel Universe.
Amy
Dental Assistant
Amy has been Dr. Robinson’s assistant since 2014. She loves spending time with her family, friends, and animals.
Amy is a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues.
Carrie
Dental Assistant
Carrie has been a Dental Assistant since 2001. She is married, has three busy kids and one cute dog! When she isn’t at her children’s sporting events, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, biking, making crafts and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes!
Katie
Dental Assistant
Katie has been with Horton Family Dental since the beginning of 2019. She loves building relationships with her patients and seeing them leave with a smile. While she is not at work, Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors and playing with her dog.
Kim M.
Dental Hygienist
Kim M was inspired by her childhood dentist to study dental hygiene. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from The University of Iowa in 1985. Kim has worked for over 20 years at Horton Family Dental. She enjoys building relationships with patients. Her goal is to help her patients have a beautiful, healthy smile along with good overall health. Kim and her husband Pat have two grown children. Their son, Joe and his wife, Shelly, live in the Des Moines area. Their daughter, Mallory, lives in Des Moines as well.
Christine
Dental Hygienist
Christine has spent her entire working career in the dental field. For the past 20 years, she has been a dental hygienist. She spends her free time on the many DIY projects she has at home. Her three active dogs keep her busy, along with gardening and her family.
Kasey
Dental Hygienist
Kasey has been with Horton Family Dental since 2017 as a Dental Hygienist. Kasey and her husband Matt reside in Marion with their two daughters Olivia and Makenna. In her free time, she enjoys going to the movies, watching the Hawkeyes and spending time with her family. What Kasey enjoys most about her job is building relationships with her patients and helping improve and maintain their oral health.

Dental Hygienist
Jenny has been a dental hygienist since 1987, most of those years she has worked for Horton Family
Dental. She has been married for 31 years and has 3 children and 1 grandson.
When Jenny is not at work, she enjoys Bible study, gardening and spending time with her family.

Dental Hygienist
Kim O has been a dental hygienist for over 25 years. She has been with Horton Family Dental since 2017. Outside of work, Kim enjoys gardening and travel.

Michele has been with Horton Family Dental since 2020. She enjoys staying active, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Dental Hygienist
Marcia has been a hygienist since 2005. Marcia has 2 boys and she enjoys gardening, biking, concerts, and spending time with her family.

About Horton

Dr. Doug Horton was born and raised in Osage, Iowa. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at Iowa State University in 1972 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at The University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1976. Dr. Horton has been practicing in the Cedar Rapids area since 1977.
He enjoys working with his son, Ben, and the rest of the staff at Horton Family Dental. Dr. Horton is an adjunct Associate Professor at the College of Dentistry, past President of the Iowa Dental Association University District, past Trustee of the Iowa Dental Association, a Diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and a member of the American Association of Implant Dentistry. He volunteers his time at the Eastern Iowa Dental Center twice a month.
In his free time, Dr. Horton enjoys aviation, projects at home, singing with The Harmony Hawks and playing with his 8 grandchildren.
