Re-Open Notice
We hope that this letter finds you and your family in good health. We are looking forward to re-opening our office on May 18th. We will be contacting patients to reschedule appointments that were cancelled as a result of the closure that began on March 17th. We are doing our best to prioritize those who have waited for the longest and those with more urgent issues. We care about our patients and we wanted to reach out to you about what we are doing here at Horton Family Dental to keep our team, our patients, and our community safe. We are following the current Iowa Department of Public Health, Iowa Dental Association, American Dental Association, and CDC guidelines to do our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19. We have been working diligently to procure adequate personal protective equipment (PPE). Supply is currently limited as most are still being directed to hospitals. This may impact our ability to see patients at our “normal” capacity. Additional measures we are taking to ensure the safety of our team and patients are listed below:
- All team members have agreed to practice social distancing protocols and have their temperature taken each morning to ensure no low-grade fever.
- Our office will ask you about some screening questions on the phone and again when you arrive for your visit.
- We are requesting patients remain in their vehicles upon arrival to the office and notify us via call or text that you have arrived.
- We have a hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office.
- Anyone coming into the office must wear a mask or a face covering. If you do not have a mask or face covering please inform us, and one will be provided for you upon arrival.
- Your temperature will be taken upon entering the office to ensure no low-grade fever (defined as 100.4F per CDC guidelines).
- All staff equipped with increased PPE including level 3 face masks in the reception area and N-95 face masks in all clinical areas.
- We are practicing high frequency cleaning of all doorknobs, pens, reception area & clinical area countertops/surfaces, & restrooms.
- To ensure we are following social distancing protocols, we ask that only the patient come into the office. If this is not possible please inform our team upon scheduling your appointment. At this time, any person in the treatment area is required to don appropriate PPE for the procedure being performed. In an effort to conserve PPE we are only allowing essential team members in the treatment area.
We sincerely appreciate your trust as we move forward. The safety of our team, patients, and community is our primary goal. If you have any questions please contact our office.
Thank you
Dr. Ben Horton, Dr. Doug Horton, and Dr. Arlyn Robinson
